We are the Drage Family!

We’re passionate about giving second chances—to both horses and humans. Drage 2nd Chance Ranch is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization where every dollar earned or donated goes directly back into supporting the horses we rescue and the people we serve.

To fund our mission, we offer meaningful, fun, and educational experiences, including:

  • Horseback Riding Lessons (for kids and adults)
  • Guided Trail Rides
  • Birthday Parties & Pony Rides
  • Overnight Horse Camping Adventures
  • Horse & Human Partnership Programs

Through these services, we aim to create opportunities for underprivileged youth, individuals in addiction recovery, and those struggling with loneliness, depression, or life transitions. Our mission is to provide a safe space where healing, growth, and transformation happen.

At Second Chance Ranch, we believe that no matter where you’ve been, what you’ve done, or who you’ve been, you are a child of God. You are valued, you are loved, and you deserve a second chance.

  1. Rescued Athena & Aries on accident, and within a year rescued and rehomed 6 other horses
  2. We Officially started the nonprofit, registered with the IRS 501c3
  3. Competed in the Ryan Tree Foundation Charity Fundraiser, raising awareness for our cause across the US and beyond
  4. Struggled to keep the nonprofit afloat during the pandemic, and somehow managed to raise our fundraising goals and success despite the obstacles
  5. Created the Work 2 Ride Program for at-risk youth
  6. Added our first human baby to the Ranch Family
  7. Created the Riding Roots Program to service younger youth
  8. Added our second baby and formed the first 4H Club in Utah that provides horses for youth without access to them

What we do

Riding Lessons

Riding lessons are offered year round at the Scotsman Center Arena in Mountain Green as well as a private arena in West Haven & Ogden.  During the summer (June-August).

New this year we are offering week long horse summer camps. We will be hosting these camps June-August. Please contact us for more information.

​​SCENIC TRAIL RIDES

We have a plethora of beautiful trails to choose from. Trail Loops range from 1 to 4 hours round trip. The scenery is unparalleled in Winter, Fall, Spring AND Summer! 
PRICING:
$75-$150/hour per rider dependent on your trail location choice

Birthday Parties
​& Special Occasions

Here at the Ranch we can host your special occasion or we can bring the party to you!!! Birthday parties are a blast at The Scotsman Center. We can bring up to five horses right to your house as well! Our "pony rides" are fun for kids and adults as the horses are big enough for all sizes and are hand-led... not just riding around in circles on a machine!

We have the ability to set up and create a cinematic experience of photography and videography for your special event. Cinematics are produced by Big Iris Productions.

Whatever your occasion, we have a package to match it! Call for pricing on special occasions as location, time of year and other details affect prices. 

HOMESCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS

 We’re proud to work with many homeschool families and groups! As an approved vendor for Harmony Education, Utah Fits All, and the Children First Scholarship, we offer riding lessons and educational programs that are often fully covered through these programs. If you’re a homeschool family looking for hands-on, outdoor learning and horsemanship, we’d love to have you join us!
